Celebrating 100 Years of Contour

In celebration of 100 years of the Coca-Cola contour bottle, 3 Degrees were engaged to produce a montage of events to help celebrate this key milestone. Melbourne’s renowned AFL Grand Final weekend acted as a pillar for the celebrations, complimented by a series of custom designed experiences for more than 400 guests from across Australia.

The 3 Degrees design team were also entrusted to create an event brand identity which combined iconic Coca-Cola imagery with AFL and the MCG. This was used across various branded applications including custom bottle wraps, invitations and large scale digital animations.

The Making of an Ugly Duckling

We loved seeing The Ugly Duckling wine & cocktail bar come to life after almost a year of design and construction. When our design team were asked to create a brand that reflected the meticulous style of a Hecker Guthrie fitout, we gulped and sharpened our pencils.

Perched on the corner, The Ugly Duckling in name and design pays homage to the recent resurrection of Swan Street, Richmond. Drawing on the sophisticated style of the 1920’s and the classic cocktail era, the logo remains sleek and understated, with a touch of golden glamour.

The graphic patterns and contemporary colour palette utilised in the fit-out served as the inspiration for the accompanying background layers throughout the menus, website and additional brand collateral.
The Ugly Duckling wine & cocktail bar is located at 238 Swan Street, Richmond. Open Mon-Thu 5pm-Late, Fri-Sat 3pm-1am, Sun 3pm-Late.

We hope to see you soon for a drink!

BRINGING INTERNATIONAL STYLE TO THE WORLD OF BEER WITH PERONI

3 Degrees was appointed by Italian beer brand, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, to leverage Peroni’s sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) and drive PR outcomes for the brand.  Although multiple Peroni activations took place during the week, the PR strategy centred around the execution of an intimate dinner party.

Hosting an exclusive group of media, celebrities and fashion influencers, the dinner party celebrated Peroni’s association with MBFWA and welcomed Peroni’s global ambassador, Antonio Berardi, to Australia.  Berardi, a Milan-based fashion designer whose brand is a regular feature on red carpets around the world, has enjoyed a long-term ambassadorship with Peroni, sharing the values of Italian style and craftsmanship. Naturally, the event took on the Italian style of both brands with Pendolino restaurant designing a tailored menu and contemporary Italian furnishings provided by Space Furniture. Guests of the event included magazine editors, fashion blogger Nicole Warne, model Shanina Shaik, the Stenmark twins and other friends of Peroni.

Through a number of feature articles secured and published prior to the Milan-based designer’s arrival, anticipation and excitement was built around his visit, with Antonio positioned as Peroni’s exclusive international guest.  Peroni’s key message of ‘bringing style to the world of beer’ formed the crux of the editorial procurement strategy.  3 Degrees successfully pitched feature stories to a targeted group of desired media outlets and achieved coverage in Sunday Style (Sunday Herald Sun & Sunday Telegraph), Vogue Australia, RUSSH, The Australian, D’MARGE, Harper’s BAZAAR, ELLE and more.

SHIRE OF ROEBOURNE LUNAR CIRCUS SCHOOL BRANDING

Recently, 3 Degrees’ Design team had the opportunity to work with Western Australia’s Shire of Roebourne in creating their 2014 Lunar Circus school branding. Located in Karratha and run in partnership with Rio Tinto, the Lunar Circus school was held during the April school holidays and its brand needed to be fun, dynamic and colourful to speak to a youthful demographic. The resulting final design incorporated a modern twist on traditional circus colours and dynamic illustrations mixed with bold expressive fonts, and was rolled out across a range of collateral including T-shirts, backpacks, print and ambient advertising.

This project is just one of a few exciting jobs we have worked on with our friends at Shire of Roebourne and is another example of how distance or time zones are no obstacle to achieving great results with our clients.

We have a proud history of working with Cirque du Soleil and are delighted to have been appointed as the exclusive sponsorship agency across Australia and New Zealand.

Cirque du Soleil offers an excellent platform for like-minded brands to align with a globally renowned entertainment company and gives partners the chance to connect and build relationships with a captive audience in a creative and inspirational way.

3 Degrees created a bespoke introductory document providing an overview of their next tour and the opportunities that exist for brands, including media integration, consumer facing initiatives, VIP hosting opportunities and special events. We welcome the opportunity to discuss how your brand could become involved with this prestigious entertainment property.

VECCI PRESIDENT’S DINNER HOSTS THE CALYPSO KINGS

The Members Dining Room at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground was the setting for the annual VECCI President’s Dinner at which 250 government, member and VIP guests were hosted. The venue created a perfect backdrop for special guests Sir Vivian Richards, Michael Holding and Joel Garner – cricketing legends collectively known as the Calypso Kings.

The journey commenced with welcome drinks in the Dining Room foyer and was followed by a beautiful three course menu designed for the event by celebrated Melbourne Restaurant Il Bacaro.

Formalities included an address by VECCI President Peter McMullin and a message from VECCI Chief Executive Mark Stone.

Special guests joined facilitator Tim Lane on stage for an intimate interview about their illustrious cricketing careers. The popularity of these guests was apparent during the official signing and photo opportunity session.

To end the evening guests were treated to a personal farewell that included petite flower posies gifted to guests as they exited.

The result was a truly memorable evening.

3 DEGREES WELCOMES OMEGA TO THE FAMILY

Our design department are proud to announce they have been engaged to work with Omega Watches to produce a custom sales kit for their range of iconic watches. We would like to officially welcome Omega and thank their very astute brand manager for approaching us at the beginning of Spring – it’s a humbling honour to be sought out, especially by such an iconic brand. Our first piece of work with Omega is set to enter production and we couldn’t be more proud of the attention to detail and quality finish our teams have collaboratively achieved. We’re looking forward to growing the relationship and helping Omega achieve their goals in the Australian market.

MASTER PAINTER’S STYLE GUIDE DESIGN

We were recently given the opportunity to create a new style guide for the Victoria and Tasmania branches of Master Painters Australia. The aim of the rebrand was to bring some much needed cohesion to the existing stationery, print collateral and member’s kits which overtime had become busy and disjointed with the logo – the only element tying each piece together.

Bright primary colours were retained from the unaltered logo to tie in the original brand while a modern slab serif font family brought a strong, casual yet professional look to the communications. Overall the result is modern, vibrant, strong and most importantly consistent across all communications.

IT’S MELBOURNE SHOWTIME!

The 3 Degrees Sponsorship & Commercial Rights team have worked hard to pull together another successful year of Sponsorship for the Royal Melbourne Show, and what a year it has been. 3 Degrees have introduced a number of new brands to this year’s event, including Australian owned and operated Red Energy and premium grocery brand Thomas Dux.

Red Energy came on board as an Official Sponsor and took up Presenting Rights to the Super Show Trail Bag. This concept effectively took their brand across the entire Melbourne Showgrounds site for the duration of the Show, while Thomas Dux, also a new Official Sponsor, took up Presenting Rights to the Fine Food Deli Showbag which sold off the shelves so quickly the Show staff could hardly keep up the stock!

Finally, 3 Degrees were very excited to have Woolworths, a long-standing Principal Partner of the Show, as the proud new owners of the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion. Woolworths upsized their footprint in line with their new Naming Rights sponsorship with a 300sqm activation in the pavilion and showcased the best of their Macro and Select ranges, whilst also engaging children through their Fresh Food Kids Farmer photos and the Paddock to Plate Wheel where kids collected stickers and won prizes from the wheel.
