Welcome, Fiat & Alfa Romeo

It is with much pride that we announce two new clients in Fiat and Alfa Romeo. We have long been admirers of these iconic Italian vehicle brands and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the 3 Degrees family.

Our partnership will see us work across multiple marketing activities, including strategic communications, activations, sponsorships and of course media & PR.

We have already been working closely with the Fiat and Alfa Romeo teams on a variety of short and longer term strategies and are looking forward to seeing the first sponsorship and activation initiative amplified at this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, showcasing the recently updated Fiat 500 and introducing the all new Fiat 500X as the perfect fashion accessories.

Celebrating 10 Years with CoINVEST

We’re celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our working partnership with the driving force behind the construction industry’s portable long service leave – CoInvest.  It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed by.

Some of us still remember the initial brand planning workshops and everyone in our team has their own fond CoInvest story, mostly involving road trips to construction sites with Andrew!  For an agency that’s 12 years old, it’s an incredible thing to be able to celebrate a 10 year client anniversary.

CoInvest, we thank you for your trust, your loyalty and your continued commitment to making us a part of your family.  The 11th year is already shaping up to be a big one with the launch of the new website coinvest.com.au and the member communications strategy roll out.  Cheers to 10 years and to 10 years more!

#PeroniStyle at the Portsea Polo

It was a pleasure, once again, to have worked with Peroni Nastro Azzurro to help celebrate and leverage its association with the 2016 Portsea Polo. Taking inspiration from Peroni’s latest ‘Vita Al Mare’ campaign, Peroni and 3 Degrees created an Italian experience designed to drive media integration whilst hosting special guests and media partners throughout the Polo weekend.

On the eve of the Polo, Peroni hosted an intimate event, Cinema Peroni in association with Vogue and GQ Australia. Sweeping ocean views at a luxury private residence in Portsea served as the perfect backdrop to welcome Peroni’s special guests that were hosted exclusively for the Polo weekend.

Guests included actors Luke Hemsworth, Isabelle Cornish, Tim Ross, Ben Mingay, Michael Dorman, Xavier Samuel as well as TV presenter Lauren Phillips, Vogue’s Monique Santos and GQ’s Jack Phillips. Italian inspired canapés complimented with Peroni Piccola’s and Peroni Infused cocktails were served to guests upon sunset before venturing  to an outdoor amphitheatre for a screening of ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’, which was filmed on the Italian Riviera.

Celebrating 100 Years of Contour

In celebration of 100 years of the Coca-Cola contour bottle, 3 Degrees were engaged to produce a montage of events to help celebrate this key milestone. Melbourne’s renowned AFL Grand Final weekend acted as a pillar for the celebrations, complimented by a series of custom designed experiences for more than 400 guests from across Australia.

The 3 Degrees design team were also entrusted to create an event brand identity which combined iconic Coca-Cola imagery with AFL and the MCG. This was used across various branded applications including custom bottle wraps, invitations and large scale digital animations.

Piccola Launch Aperitivo #PeroniStyle

As part of a series of initiatives to help welcome the new Peroni Piccola to Australia, we hosted an aperitivo for media and key customers at a stunning Sydney Harbour-side private residence. Guests were transferred to the home by a fleet of timber speedboats and basked in the afternoon sun by the crystal blue water.

The event toasted to the natural beauty of spending life by the sea with Italian style, indulging in freshly shucked oysters, hand selected charcuterie and ice chilled Peroni Piccola’s.

Guests included editors and publishers from almost every major Australian lifestyle publication, leading online platforms and other special friends of the brand.

The afternoon was a true testament to Peroni’s Italian flair and heritage, celebrating a milestone in the brand’s craftsmanship.

The Making of an Ugly Duckling

We loved seeing The Ugly Duckling wine & cocktail bar come to life after almost a year of design and construction. When our design team were asked to create a brand that reflected the meticulous style of a Hecker Guthrie fitout, we gulped and sharpened our pencils.

Perched on the corner, The Ugly Duckling in name and design pays homage to the recent resurrection of Swan Street, Richmond. Drawing on the sophisticated style of the 1920’s and the classic cocktail era, the logo remains sleek and understated, with a touch of golden glamour.

The graphic patterns and contemporary colour palette utilised in the fit-out served as the inspiration for the accompanying background layers throughout the menus, website and additional brand collateral.
The Ugly Duckling wine & cocktail bar is located at 238 Swan Street, Richmond. Open Mon-Thu 5pm-Late, Fri-Sat 3pm-1am, Sun 3pm-Late.

We hope to see you soon for a drink!

Jeffrey Smart’s Iconic ‘Morning Practice, Baia’ Goes Under the Hammer

It’s not very often that a piece of work of this calibre comes onto the scene. Sotheby’s Australia auctioned this significant piece, Jeffrey Smart’s 1969 painting ‘Morning Practice, Baia’ as part of their Important Australia Art auction on 25th August, achieving $671,000 including buyers premium. The work has been prominently showcased in all major books and catalogues on Jeffrey Smart and was described by the artist himself as “one of my best paintings ever”. Generating an incredible amount of media exposure in publications such as The Australian’s WISH magazine, The Australian Financial Review and Business Insider, the oil on canvas features a man practicing with geometry, the crisp light and shadow illuminating the modern walls.

Held in an international private collection for over 40 years, Morning Practice, Baia went under the hammer for the first time in history – a true honour for Sotheby’s Australia. 3 Degrees would like to congratulate Sotheby’s Australia on an incredible result.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD PREMIERE IN LA

We recently attended the global premiere of Mad Max: Fury Road at the TLC Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It was a privilege to be part of the global premiere alongside many of the Australians who were instrumental to the success of the franchise. The long-awaited film is the fourth installment in George Miller’s franchise starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz, Nicholas Hoult, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough and international Australian supermodels Megan Gale and Abbey Lee Kershaw. Following the Mad Max: Fury Road screening, an elaborately themed private after party hosted by Warner Bros. invited cast members, attendees and special guests to celebrate the film’s release.
