SEEK AT QUALIA

The sun was shining when an intimate group of SEEK’s clients stepped off the plane at Hamilton Island Airport for three days of relaxed corporate interaction. From here, guests boarded their personal golf carts for the scenic drive across the island towards luxury resort qualia and hey presto, the change in pace was set in motion.

Situated on the secluded northern-most tip of Hamilton Island and surrounded by lush tropical bushland, qualia is recognised worldwide as the new benchmark in luxury travel, offering a distinctly Australian experience. It was here that SEEK management and clients based themselves for three stress-free days.

Across the weekend client buggies and co-ordinated transfers ferried guests between the resort and a variety of island locations and activities including the famed Hamilton Island Golf Course on Dent Island and the luxurious Alani cruiser for a private charter to Whitehaven Beach.

3 Degrees Marketing were engaged by SEEK to facilitate all aspects of the program including travel management; collateral print and design; activity co-ordination, meeting facilitation; on the ground logistics and above all ensuring guests didn’t have to lift a finger.

CORNWALL STODART HOSTS AN INTIMATE LUNCHEON FOR THE PRIME MINISTER OF EAST TIMOR

Accompanied by a full police escort, guided by security and assisted by personal advisors, His Excellency Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão arrived at the Cornwall Stodart Office on William Street with considerable fanfare. His manner, however, was far from ceremonial, greeting each of the invited guests personally with a handshake and a warm smile.

The intimate luncheon was hosted by VECCI President Peter McMullin in conjunction with The Hon. Steve Bracks (former premier of Victoria and now special advisor to His Excellency) as a fundraising effort towards His Excellency’s campaign for re-election as Prime Minister of East Timor. Select guests, with varying interests in the neighbouring nation, shared a relaxed and intimate luncheon that included an address from His Excellency about his personal journey and that of the nation under his leadership. This acted as confirmation that His Excellency is a truly compelling man with an incredible story to tell. Guests were provided with an opportunity to present questions in an informal, open table style discussion.

3 Degrees Marketing were very proud to be engaged to manage this important event and equally honoured to contribute to the fundraising initiative driven by Peter McMullin.

MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

We’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with the iconic Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), as both a Festival Partner and Sponsorship Management Agency.

This year MIFF will premiere on August 2 and run through to August 19. Now in its 61st year, this major international event continues to host a feast of cinematic delicacies from over 50 countries, heavily garnished with a range of red carpet premieres, parties and special events within Melbourne’s CBD.

There are a number of different sponsorship categories and activation opportunities available, and as always, we’re very keen to chat to brands about bespoke ways of integrating and leveraging the various elements that make up the 17 day Festival. Opportunities range from product sampling through to Presenting Partner rights.

EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA’S MI3DE SPONSORSHIP DOCUMENT

When it comes to taking a sponsorship property to the market, a polished and well-designed proposal can make all the difference. Equestrian Victoria recently enlisted 3 Degrees’ Graphic Design services to develop their sponsorship introductory document for the Olympic qualifying event, the Melbourne International 3 Day Event (MI3DE).

3 Degrees provided Equestrian Victoria with an all-encompassing, easy-to-read proposal that they could confidently present to potential sponsors of the MI3DE, the longest running three-day event in the Southern Hemisphere held at Werribee and a highlight on the Australian eventing rider’s calendar.

Comprising three phases; dressage, cross country and showjumping, Three Day Eventing is one of the most challenging and exciting equestrian sports.

Drawing on the prestige of Equestrian events, a high-end sporty look was used to create modern spacious layouts. With the use of high quality photographs, each page was brought to life.

We loved working with the ladies at Equestrian Victoria and are looking forward to helping them secure new sponsors.

THE SMSF ACCOUNTANT IDENTITY DESIGN

Congratulations to our accountant Diana who recently launched her new business, The SMSF Accountant. We were called on to design the brand identity, create stationery and design a user-friendly website complete with Content Management System so she could have full control over content.

The end result is a clean, modern and well-balanced design with an emphasis on maturity and approachability. We also worked hard to produce a website that is easy for customers to navigate and has the perfect amount of relevant content.

We really enjoyed working on this project and are proud to help create the foundations on which her new business can grow.

FLIGHT CENTRE AMERICA’S EXPO POSTER CAMPAIGN

There is something really exciting about running a street poster campaign. With a strong, simple communication, super large format printing and guerrilla distribution (think hooded guys in a non-descript white van at night) it’s in your face, street level marketing and it works.

For these reasons, when Flight Centre approached us to include a street poster component into their upcoming USA, Canada & Alaska Travel Expo campaign strategy, we applauded them. With a bold graphic style and inclusion of a QR (quick response) code enabling passers-by to be led directly to the Expo’s website, we think it’s a great step to take to capture a wide audience cost-effectively.

We have loved working with Flight Centre on this project and look forward to working with them on more projects in the future.

FLIGHT CENTRE LAUNCHES AUSTRALIA’S FIRST CLOSE-TO-HOME TRAVEL EXPO

The 3 Degrees PR team is delighted to be working with Flight Centre to launch the Aus & NZ Travel Spectacular to the Melbourne Market. Later this month, leading tourism operators across Australia & New Zealand will come together to showcase their products at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre for a unique Travel Expo. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to compare hundreds of airfares, tours, cruises, hotels and experiences on offer throughout Australia; New Zealand under one roof.

Among the various PR activities in motion for the Expo, 3 Degrees have developed a tailored media list; created, designed and distributed a pre-event press release; and facilitated a radio partnership to promote the Expo to Melburnians, drive sales and increase the number of patrons attending.

We’re excited to be a part of this fabulous event and can’t wait to get inspired and check out what’s on offer. There’s $50 ‘Expo Cash’ on offer for all attendees. Let the family know to keep Sunday, 29th April free and we’ll see you there!

TEN BREAKFAST FEATURES ADVANCE DNA TEST FOR DOGS

Of the 3.8 million dogs that are owned in Australia, 50 percent of them are mixed breed, leaving many owners guessing their genetic make-up and leaving important breed-specific information, such as health, appearance and behavioural characteristics to speculation. With this in mind, the team at Mars, after nearly a decade of extensive research, have developed the ADVANCE Mixed Breed Identification DNA Test for dogs to the Australian market.

Mars Petcare called upon the 3 Degrees PR team to help them launch this new product and to whet the curiosity of Australian mixed breed dog owners to unravel the heritage of their mutts. As part of the overall communications strategy, we flew up to the Network Ten studios in Sydney with television animal expert Dr Melissa Meehan and her mutt Fuzzy in tote. Fuzzy made his debut appearance on the Ten Breakfast show, with Dr Meehan explaining to hosts Paul Henry and Kathryn Robinson, as well as Breakfast viewers, the advantages of discovering a mixed breed dog’s ancestry.

If you’re curious about your dog’s ancestry or want to know other important breed-specific information (e.g. your dog’s genetic adult weight range, a recommended nutritional, wellness and exercise program, genetic diseases prone to your dog’s breed, and a better understanding of your dog’s behaviour), the test is available nationally from veterinary practices. Go to advancepet.com.au/DNA for more information on the DNA Test.

On a side note, the verdict is out on our office dog Mila… Originally bought as a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Poodle cross, the DNA test has confirmed that she is a Cavalier/Cocker Spaniel cross.

Gucci Sydney Store Launch

GUCCI FLAGSHIP STORE LAUNCH

The 3 Degrees events team were set the ultimate challenge of transforming a shopping centre lobby, still undergoing construction, into a glamorous dinner setting for the Gucci Flagship store launch.

On Wednesday 30 November Gucci officially launched their flagship store in Sydney, located in the Westfield Shopping Centre on Castlereagh Street. The celebration commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by an in-store cocktail event and finally an exclusive four course gala dinner, with a menu designed by top Sydney restaurant Pendolino.

During the installation, the 3 Degrees team navigated their way around a building site and in just over 48 hours crafted the custom event design commissioned in consultation with Gucci. The design was complete with 50 metres of temporary walls to divide the vast space; a raised, circular stage; custom built dining tables; ten metre high, full colour, Gucci advertising prints; hundreds of fragrant peonies; hand selected tableware and a fully functioning commercial kitchen.

Add to this a cast of waiters, door hosts and lift attendants dressed by Gucci and the result was an unforgettable evening for a selection of VIP’s, media and celebrities that included a private performance by British singer/songwriter Anna Calvi – a personal favourite of Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini.  In celebration of the flagship store launch, Gucci also presented a cheque for $200,000 to the Australian Childhood Foundation.

NEW SPONSORS FOR MIFF

The 3 Degrees Sponsorship team is proud to have secured Audi as the Presenting Partner to the Opening Night of the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), Australia’s largest film festival and an icon on the Victorian cultural calendar.

Audi first dipped their toe in the water as an official vehicle supplier for MIFF in 2010 when 3 Degrees approached them to supply courtesy vehicles for celebrities and VIP guests. This relationship, having since grown to Presenting Partner status, is a true reflection of how proud we are of our long term approach to nurturing mutually beneficial sponsorship collaborations.

As part of the 2012 Festival, 3 Degrees have also secured Dutch beer brand Grolsch as the Official Beer Supplier and Presenting Partner for “MIFF Shorts” on an initial 3 year term. MIFF Shorts is one of the most highly regarded and long-standing short film competitions in the Asia Pacific region and regularly attracts the best short films from around the world.

The Festival begins on August 2 with what we know will be an amazing Opening Night production…. because we’re also the event producers – thanks MIFF, we love working with you.
