WORKING IN ALL DIMENSIONS

Turning a creative theme into a three-dimensional creative visual is 3 Degrees’ Design department’s forte, which is why we jumped at the opportunity to provide Coca-Cola Amatil with creative 3D visualisations for their AFL Grand Final Hospitality event to support our Events team’s creative concept.

We started by mapping out the venue’s floor plan, then rapidly built walls, staging, all proposed furniture and other objects to create and shape the event’s aesthetic. Once the scene was built, we added individual textures to each object, set up a virtual lighting rig and positioned individual cameras for the final rendered viewpoints.

3D Rendering for event concept visualisation not only helped CCA understand exactly what their event would look like, but also helped us execute an event with elements that were proportional to the space. The end result was a CCA Clubhouse Pub theme which translated perfectly within the space at the MCG. Pictured above left is just one element of the creative that was designed before construction, allowing the client to sign off on exactly what they wanted.

SEEK AT QUALIA

The sun was shining when an intimate group of SEEK’s clients stepped off the plane at Hamilton Island Airport for three days of relaxed corporate interaction. From here, guests boarded their personal golf carts for the scenic drive across the island towards luxury resort qualia and hey presto, the change in pace was set in motion.

Situated on the secluded northern-most tip of Hamilton Island and surrounded by lush tropical bushland, qualia is recognised worldwide as the new benchmark in luxury travel, offering a distinctly Australian experience. It was here that SEEK management and clients based themselves for three stress-free days.

Across the weekend client buggies and co-ordinated transfers ferried guests between the resort and a variety of island locations and activities including the famed Hamilton Island Golf Course on Dent Island and the luxurious Alani cruiser for a private charter to Whitehaven Beach.

3 Degrees Marketing were engaged by SEEK to facilitate all aspects of the program including travel management; collateral print and design; activity co-ordination, meeting facilitation; on the ground logistics and above all ensuring guests didn’t have to lift a finger.

EQUESTRIAN VICTORIA’S MI3DE SPONSORSHIP DOCUMENT

When it comes to taking a sponsorship property to the market, a polished and well-designed proposal can make all the difference. Equestrian Victoria recently enlisted 3 Degrees’ Graphic Design services to develop their sponsorship introductory document for the Olympic qualifying event, the Melbourne International 3 Day Event (MI3DE).

3 Degrees provided Equestrian Victoria with an all-encompassing, easy-to-read proposal that they could confidently present to potential sponsors of the MI3DE, the longest running three-day event in the Southern Hemisphere held at Werribee and a highlight on the Australian eventing rider’s calendar.

Comprising three phases; dressage, cross country and showjumping, Three Day Eventing is one of the most challenging and exciting equestrian sports.

Drawing on the prestige of Equestrian events, a high-end sporty look was used to create modern spacious layouts. With the use of high quality photographs, each page was brought to life.

We loved working with the ladies at Equestrian Victoria and are looking forward to helping them secure new sponsors.

THE SMSF ACCOUNTANT IDENTITY DESIGN

Congratulations to our accountant Diana who recently launched her new business, The SMSF Accountant. We were called on to design the brand identity, create stationery and design a user-friendly website complete with Content Management System so she could have full control over content.

The end result is a clean, modern and well-balanced design with an emphasis on maturity and approachability. We also worked hard to produce a website that is easy for customers to navigate and has the perfect amount of relevant content.

We really enjoyed working on this project and are proud to help create the foundations on which her new business can grow.

FLIGHT CENTRE AMERICA’S EXPO POSTER CAMPAIGN

There is something really exciting about running a street poster campaign. With a strong, simple communication, super large format printing and guerrilla distribution (think hooded guys in a non-descript white van at night) it’s in your face, street level marketing and it works.

For these reasons, when Flight Centre approached us to include a street poster component into their upcoming USA, Canada & Alaska Travel Expo campaign strategy, we applauded them. With a bold graphic style and inclusion of a QR (quick response) code enabling passers-by to be led directly to the Expo’s website, we think it’s a great step to take to capture a wide audience cost-effectively.

We have loved working with Flight Centre on this project and look forward to working with them on more projects in the future.

Gucci Sydney Store Launch

GUCCI FLAGSHIP STORE LAUNCH

The 3 Degrees events team were set the ultimate challenge of transforming a shopping centre lobby, still undergoing construction, into a glamorous dinner setting for the Gucci Flagship store launch.

On Wednesday 30 November Gucci officially launched their flagship store in Sydney, located in the Westfield Shopping Centre on Castlereagh Street. The celebration commenced with a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by an in-store cocktail event and finally an exclusive four course gala dinner, with a menu designed by top Sydney restaurant Pendolino.

During the installation, the 3 Degrees team navigated their way around a building site and in just over 48 hours crafted the custom event design commissioned in consultation with Gucci. The design was complete with 50 metres of temporary walls to divide the vast space; a raised, circular stage; custom built dining tables; ten metre high, full colour, Gucci advertising prints; hundreds of fragrant peonies; hand selected tableware and a fully functioning commercial kitchen.

Add to this a cast of waiters, door hosts and lift attendants dressed by Gucci and the result was an unforgettable evening for a selection of VIP’s, media and celebrities that included a private performance by British singer/songwriter Anna Calvi – a personal favourite of Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini.  In celebration of the flagship store launch, Gucci also presented a cheque for $200,000 to the Australian Childhood Foundation.

WORKING WITH THE FISHES

Our lucky sponsorship team recently had the privilege of working with the Sydney Attractions Group, starting with an initial 3 day site visit and comprehensive venue equity review on each of their major attractions including the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, Sydney Tower and Manly Ocean World. Sydney Attractions Group is one of Australia’s most popular entertainment groups, bringing in millions of tourists each year and now very equipped to commercialize their assets accordingly.

Working over a two month fixed term contract our sponsorship team were requested to produce a strategic review, evaluation and recommendation on further commercialising their properties through sponsorship and commercial rights. We enjoyed our time with SAG and are now looking for other sponsorship project consulting work to feed Nancy and her team.

COMMERCE & INDUSTRY MAGAZINE

We recently designed and published the first new edition of ‘Commerce and Industry’ magazine for the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI).

The design team had a great time collaborating with our new friends at ACCI, producing quality design, content and intention in their renewed publication. Our main goal was to draw the reader into each individual article by alternating a set of strong, modern headlines and keeping their attention by customising each article’s layout through the magazine. We’re so proud to be working with ACCI on this project and look forward to producing the next magazine with their team.

COCA-COLA AMATIL AFL GRAND FINAL DAY CELEBRATIONS

In true Melbourne style, weather conditions played havoc on the 2011 Grand Final Day celebrations. Any plans for a backyard barbeque were washed away with the rain that continued to fall throughout the day. That is unless you were a guest at Coca-Cola Amatil’s annual AFL Grand Final day celebrations. The 2011 event saw the Olympic Atrium at the MCG transformed into The Ultimate Backyard Barbeque, complete with lush astro turf lining the entire 450 square metres of floor space. The concept was developed by our events department in consultation with CCA to create a playful take on the much loved backyard barbie – a relaxed environment for guests to kick off a memorable day at the G.

We designed and commissioned a custom-built set that included a single fronted house as the entry point, a garden shed to mask kitchen facilities and freshly washed Coca-Cola beach towels adorning oversized Hills Hoists. Traditional timber fencing enclosed the private event but there were plenty of nosy “neighbours” sneaking a peek at the most talked about Grand Final Day corporate event on site at the MCG.
